Case study

How we built a US deep-tech prospect list from 149 companies

149 companies found. 108 matched the target profile. 53 had a decision-maker we could reach. Here's how our pipeline got there.

a technology company selling to US R&D teams

What they needed

The client sells to research teams at US deep-tech and AI companies. They needed the person who decides at each company, not a generic inbox. A bought database couldn't give them that list.

What we built

A prospect list with a gate at every stage.

  1. Seed list. We found the companies on the open web, not in a bought database.
  2. Target match. Rules from the client's buyer profile decided which companies went forward.
  3. Dedupe. We checked every company against the ones already worked, so nobody got reached twice.
  4. Decision-maker lookup. We looked for the person who decides at each company. No verified email, no lead.
  5. Enrichment. We crawled each remaining company's website and public profiles for what they're working on now.
  6. Score. Each lead got a score for how closely the company matched what the client offers.
  7. QA. A person checked the flagged rows before the list went anywhere.

What came out

  • 149 companies went in.
  • 108 matched the target profile.
  • 53 had a decision-maker we could reach. We enriched, scored and checked every one.

What we threw away

41 companies didn't match the profile. 55 more matched but had nobody we could reach. Each one stopped at a named stage, so we can say why it isn't on the list.

That's the point. A short list you can trust beats a long one you have to check yourself.
